Privacy Policy for the “Inwardly” App

Inwardly does not collect any personal data. Everything you enter in the app stays on your iPhone or Android phone. We receive none of it.

What data the app processes

Your values, ratings, check-ins, notes and your progress in “Find Your Values” are stored only on your device. The app has no server connection and no user account, and it does not send any data to us or to third parties.

For the compass needle, the app reads your device’s orientation from its built-in sensors (the magnetometer on iPhone; on Android, the rotation sensor combining accelerometer, magnetometer and gyroscope). These readings are only used while they are displayed and are neither stored nor transmitted. The app does not ask for location access.

The Android version has no permission to access the internet.

Reminders and app lock

If you turn on the daily reminder, the app schedules a notification directly on your device. Nothing is sent to us, to Apple or to Google for this.

If you turn on the lock, the operating system (iOS or Android) checks your face, fingerprint, passcode or screen lock. The app only receives “confirmed” or “not confirmed”, never any biometric data.

No analytics, no ads, no tracking

The app contains no analytics or advertising services and no third-party components that collect data.

Backups

On iPhone: if you use iCloud backups or backups on your computer, the app’s data may be included in them, as with any other app. Apple’s privacy policy applies to these backups. We have no access to them.

On Android: the app excludes its data from Google’s cloud backup. If you transfer your data directly from an old phone to a new one (Android 12 and later), it may be included; this transfer happens from device to device, not through us.

Purchasing through the App Store and Google Play

Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) handles the purchase of the app and processes data according to its own privacy policy. We only receive the information they provide to sellers for billing and tax purposes. We never receive any content from the app.

Deleting your data

When you delete the app from your iPhone or Android phone, all of its data on the device is deleted.
